Helen Webb

Helen joined Equality Works in 2004, consolidating 15 years of equalities work across a range of different roles. Her career also includes time working as a freelance consultant. She is qualified in Human Resources Management and has experience of working in the fields of health and housing, as well as managing partnership working with voluntary sector organisations. Helen also has a keen interested in the relationship between human rights and equalities.

Helen has extensive experience of working within local government. Her previous roles included Health Promotion, Anti Poverty Group Manager and Policy Officer (Women). Much of her work was based within Leicester’s diverse voluntary sector. In 1998 she moved to a training and development role covering legislative and procedural issues within the context of local authorities, particularly housing. She also ran a range of management development programmes.

Prior to joining Equality Works in 2004, Helen was a Learning and Development Adviser with the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI) in Coventry, where she developed accredited training programmes for Inspectors and project managed a corporate management development programme. In addition, she specialised in different learning methods, including e-learning.

At Equality Works Helen has developed and delivered a range of courses including recruitment and selection, Equality Impact Assessment, equality and diversity, and preventing harassment in a range of public sector settings. She has developed equality and diversity programmes for a variety of organisations, from the probation services to education inspectorates. Recently, Helen has designed a new skills-based programme for managers involved in investigating cases of harassment and discrimination.

Helen is still involved in training delivery but focuses mainly on coaching and facilitation. One of her key clients is the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, with whom we have had an ongoing relationship for six years. She has also maintained her interest in e-learning and has developed on-line courses for a number of clients, including one on Diversity, Equal Opportunities and Human Rights for the London Deanery: http://www.faculty.londondeanery.ac.uk/e-learning/diversity-equal-opportunities-and-human-rights. She is currently working with Mansell to produce an e-learning package to be used across their group.

Helen has also recently been involved in developing a forum theatre product to be used within training interventions.
