Jane Farrell

Jane Farrell is the Joint Founder and Chief Executive of Equality Works. She worked in social work and education before founding Equality Works with Dr Annie Hedge in 1992. Jane has consulted and trained widely and specialises in working with senior teams to improve performance through the better integration of equalities and diversity into organisational cultures, strategy, systems, procedures and practices.

Working with managers of national and international organisations on implementing policy, providing management services, designing and facilitating awaydays for senior teams and Boards, Jane’s style has been described as ‘a powerful mix of pragmatic and fun’. Jane also speaks at many conferences and seminars, and provides personal executive coaching.

The ability to influence, persuade and build relationships is key to much of our work. Jane consistently builds relationships with top teams and other staff that inspire trust and confidence. This is evidenced by the fact that our relationship with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy is now in its seventh year and we have been working with Transport for London and London Underground for over ten years. Jane facilitates five awaydays a year for the Senior Management Team of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and its Council, which often includes the design and implementation of change management programmes. It involves working in partnership with the Deputy Chief Executive, an excellent understanding of the strategic objectives and an appreciation of the challenges that individuals and the team face. Jane has a very strong relationship with the team which allows positive challenging in a manner which they enjoy.

She has focused on the business and strategic development of Equality Works, building a company that is known for delivering interventions that really make a difference. Jane works with clients such as Transport for London, (leading on the award winning Managing Diversity Competence Project), the BBC, QC Appointments Panel, Serco Docklands, BHP Billiton, the Department of Health and many local authorities across the UK.

Jane’s current priority is to ensure that Equality Works continues to be recognised as the best training and consultancy company in the UK that works with clients who want to integrate equality and inclusion into the fabric of their organisations.
