The London Borough of Redbridge’s Senior Diversity Officer undertook an initial analysis of training needs through reviewing the legislative and policy context; analysing findings of a range of reviews, studies and inspections; and consulting staff. This informed the commissioning of Equality Works to deliver a programme specific to the needs of the borough. We agreed to provide training to supplement the Borough's work on Equality and Diversity for senior managers and front line managers/team managers as phase one of a training programme.
We were commissioned by Mansell to discover how the company can build on current good practice in relation to equality and diversity. This included identifying any areas that could be strengthened to improve business performance.
Mansell is a very successful, award winning company, and clearly a leader in its field. In order to maintain this position Mansell is moving forward in many areas typified by an exciting and innovative approach to health and safety. An important ingredient in the ongoing success of the company is to ensure Mansell is also moving ahead on diversity
In 2006 Equality Works began working with Hertfordshire Drug and Alcohol Team (DAT) to deliver a tailored training programme for staff and managers on Equality and Diversity. This programme was carried out for DAT working in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire.
Our partnership with NPS - Essex goes back over five years working on many levels of diversity and equality. We have designed and delivered training on: Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion; Recruitment and Selection; Performance Management; and briefings and facilitations for senior staff on a range of issues. We are currently involved in developing management development training programmes for middle and senior staff for six and twelve month periods. This training would support the Recruitment and Selection and Equalities training that we are currently providing in Essex.
Equality Works has a long standing relationship with London Deanery and has run a wide range of training programme for their staff from Board level downwards. In 2007 Equality Works was asked by the Deanery to produce the script for an e-learning programme which would be available on their website as part of a modular programme for Clinical Teachers. The module was called ‘Diversity, Equal Opportunities and Human Rights’.
We have a long-term working relationship with Barnardo’s and have worked both regionally and nationally on many aspects of equality and diversity.
We worked with Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust providing introductory training on Equality Impact Assessments to senior managers.
