The reforms announced in last week’s opening of Parliament present some significant opportunities and challenges for those of us working towards delivering greater equality across our organisations and communities.
We will begin to see quite quickly how far we have come in winning the business case for diversity by observing which organisations take a “let’s wait and see approach” and which will continue to leverage diversity as a core strategy for improving business performance.
We are already seeing large scale restructures and redundancies across all sectors, and have been for some time. We are working with clients on how these major change programmes can be done in efficient, effective and fair ways that take account of real constraints.
As always we will maintain our focus on what can be done, not waiting to find out what we have to do but asking the question how can we make a positive difference within constraints and be the best organisations that we can be.
