Charities

The majority of charities are of course committed to equality and diversity: their challenge is to embed these principles into their work whilst being hampered by pressing demands and scare resources.

Equality Works has worked with several high profile charities to help embed equality into service delivery and employment practices.

For example, our partnership with Barnardo’s goes back to 1994 and we have worked with them both regionally and nationally on many aspects of equality and diversity. With our assistance in the North West, Barnardo’s have been able to make sure their approach was consistent, across all projects as well as across the various equality strands. In addition, through a range of training initiatives, we have helped them to mainstream equality and diversity into the whole learning and development function.

Clients in this area include:

  • Barnardos
  • RSPCA
  • Macmillan Cancer Support
  • St Mungo's

Case studies:

St Mungo’s: Harassment and Bullying

St Mungo’s are a national charity providing housing and support for homeless people. As part of a pilot project, we designed and delivered a series of two-day training courses for managers and staff, based on the following themes:

Barnardo’s: Facilitation for Regional Equalities Group

We have a long-term working relationship with Barnardo’s and have worked both regionally and nationally on many aspects of equality and diversity.

our relationship with Equality Works has given us the confidence that we have a specialist who will work with us on their ongoing journey to ensure that Diversity and Equality is not only embraced but embedded in everything we do.
