A growing number of Equality Works clients are in the area of education. Projects undertaken for City University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Tower Hamlets College and the University of Hertfordshire illustrate the wide range of involvement that Equality Works is engaged in. Each of these clients had a good understanding of equalities issues, but wanted to apply this understanding in a more focused and considered way.
Manchester Metropolitan University commissioned us to determine how best flexible working practices might be formalised in the future.
We developed a series of case studies as part of a corporate mainstreaming equalities programme for Tower Hamlets College, presenting them through workshops, training sessions and a conference.
City University asked us to undertake recruitment and selection training for their staff to ensure that equalities issues were recognised and taken into account throughout the recruitment and selection process.
A tailored training programme on Equality and Diversity for staff and managers was the main feature of a project for Hertfordshire Drug and Alcohol Team (DAT) in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire.
Equality Works has over 15 years experience of producing case studies and other training and facilitation based material for a range of audiences across a number of sector based agencies. In 2008 Equality Works developed a series of case studies as part of a corporate mainstreaming equalities programme for Tower Hamlets College. We presented these case studies to programme managers over a two-day equality training programme. The training programme was attended by over 40 managers.
In 2006 Equality Works began working with Hertfordshire Drug and Alcohol Team (DAT) to deliver a tailored training programme for staff and managers on Equality and Diversity. This programme was carried out for DAT working in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire.
Equality Works was commissioned by Manchester Metropolitan University to assess current working arrangements within the university. We also undertook a review of the informal flexible working arrangements within the University and made recommendations about how best flexible working might be formalised in the future, taking into account the preferences of staff and current best practice.
Equality Works has a long and successful track record of working with City University. On this occasion we were commissioned to use our extensive experience and knowledge of training to deliver training courses for the University’s staff. This involved looking at every stage of the hiring process.
Equality Works were commissioned to carry out a skills-based management developement programme with the College values and management framework at its core. The programme was for managers who were new to their roles and who may or may not be experienced at managing people, teams and functions.
